Dr. Kerry Bail BSc., BVSc. (Hons), MANZCVSc. (Small Animal Medicine)
Kerry grew up in Shepparton. Internal medicine is a special interest for Dr. Kerry and she has completed her membership exams in this field with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Science. She also enjoys all aspect of surgery and spent 2 years training under a surgical specialist. Dr. Kerry owned her own clinic in nearby Endeavour Hills for 17 years before selling that clinic and moving to Emerald Veterinary Clinic close to home in the beautiful Dandenong ranges.She has lived in Beaconsfield Upper for the many years with her cats, dogs, horses and chickens.
Dr. Carly Whittaker BSc. (Animal Science), DVM
Carly was brought up in the beautiful Barossa Valley in South Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Animal Science at Adelaide University before making the move to Melbourne to study veterinary medicine. During her veterinary study, Carly worked as a small animal vet nurse in Melbourne’s west. Carly completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and joined the Emerald and Elite Equine teams as a small animal and equine veterinarian. Carly’s professional interests include ultrasonography, surgery and oncology. When she isn’t at work, Carly enjoys getting outside with her two energetic dogs, horse riding, dancing and watching movies (whilst drinking a good drop of wine from the Barossa!).
Dr. Melissa Germino BVSc (Hons)
Melissa grew up in Gippsland and moved to study at The University of Melbourne to live out her childhood dream of becoming a vet. She had been working in the inner suburbs of Melbourne for many years before moving to The Dandenongs and beginning at Emerald Veterinary Clinic. As a general practitioner, Melissa enjoys the variety of pets she sees in Emerald but has a special interest in feline medicine, ophthalmology and diagnostic imaging. She teaches veterinary nurses at Box Hill TAFE and enjoys sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students. Melissa feels the most rewarding part of her job is getting to know pet owners and speaking to them about caring for their pets. Melissa lives locally with her fiance Jed and her naughty torti cat named Peach. She plays tennis for her local tennis club, enjoys cooking, hiking and traveling.
Dr. Debbie Carter BVSc.
Debbie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1996. She began her veterinary career working in in mixed practice but now enjoys her focus on small animal medicine. Debbie has been working at Emerald Veterinary Clinic for five years. She loves working up medical cases and can be seen in the clinic most Saturdays and occasionally during the week. Debbie has a busy home life juggling a husband, four children, and three fur babies. Snickers and Cookie are ex-clinic cats and her Labrador Jed is a typical lab and always up for fun!
